Pickleball in Columbus

Pickleball is growing incredibly fast and Columbus is at the forefront. There are already two permanent pickleball venues in the region with Pickle & Chill near Ohio State’s campus and Pickle Shack on the north side of the city. A third – Real Dill Pickleball – is opening at Polaris in fall 2023.

The burgeoning league’s 2022 championship event was hosted at Pickle & Chill.

Columbus Recreation & Parks has 118 pickleball courts (58 outdoor and 60 indoor).
MLP Columbus in 2022 set a record for the largest prize purse in pro pickleball history, with the winning team taking home $100,000.
Columbus hosted the first Association for Pickleball Players (APP) Women's Open in October 2024.
Pickleballuniversity.com called Columbus a “hot spot” for the sport and had Ohio on its top ten list of states to play in.
