We look forward to welcoming BGR! members to Columbus and supporting their mission of promoting diversity within the running and walking community."

The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and Black Girls RUN! National Meet-Up is more than a race, it’s a celebration of community, strength and resilience.

“The opportunity to collaborate for this amazing event is so exciting,” said Alexander. “The energy of our organization and members matched with the excitement of this race will be an event like no other. After participating for the first time last year, there was no question we had to bring BGR! Nation to Columbus. And, as we always like to say, it will be ‘a party on the pavement’.”

Jay Ell Alexander will also serve as the Honorary Race Director of the 2025 event.

BGR! members who attend the National Meet-Up and sign up for Team BGR! will receive an exclusive medal, commemorative bib, pre-race celebration, post-race party, and more as the city of Columbus welcomes and celebrates the group.
