For the first time in the history of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Wrestling Tournament, girls will take to the mat for an OHSAA state title March 10-12 at the Schottenstein Center. More than 220 female wrestlers will represent 136 different schools.

Since 2020, the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association has held a girls wrestling state tournament at Hilliard Davidson High School. The three-day state tournament will be double elimination for the girls and boys. Single session tickets are on sale now.

In January 2022, the OHSAA announced that girls wrestling and boys volleyball would be added as sanctioned sports beginning with the 2022-23 school year. Ohio is one of 38 state associations to sponsor girls wrestling.
