Leading sports industry publication Sports Business Journal (SBJ) named Columbus the 10th best sports business city for hosting events. The methodology considered 1,500 recent events across the country including permanent events (ex: PGA Tour events, Bowl Games, and traveling events (ex: All-Star Games, NCAA Championships, youth tournaments).
The story listed several major events recently hosted or upcoming in Columbus including:
- 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship
- 2021 USA Volleyball Girls’ 18s Junior National Championships
- FIFA Men's World Cup Qualifier matches: U.S. Men's National Team vs. Costa Rica (2021) and El Salvador (2022)
- 2023 USA Racquetball National Intercollegiate Championships
- 2023 USA Volleyball Girls 18s National Championship
- 2024 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships
- 2024 MLS All-Star Game
- 2024 NCAA Men's & Women's Fencing Championships
- 2025 NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship
- 2027 NCAA Women's Final Four
