Columbus is getting another esports venue. One year after the Belong Gaming Arena opened at Polaris, Glytch announced plans to open a 2,000-seat arena in Central Ohio by 2024 or 2025.
Glytch plans to build 32 arenas throughout the U.S. and Canada over the next seven years. Columbus will mark Glytch’s second stadium after Los Angeles. Each stadium will be the home of a professional esports team and offer virtual-reality experiences, food, beverages and broadcast centers.
“Ohio has a booming esports fan base, and we are proud to be serving the Buckeye State with a true, professional esports stadium," Glytch Chief Visionary Officer Michael Williams said.
