Ginther grew up on fields, diamonds and courts. “If you wanted to find me during the course of the year, go to the fields at the Park of Roses,” said Ginther, who grew up in the Clintonville section of the city. He played football, basketball, volleyball and baseball at Whetstone High, and football at Earlham College.
So, it’s no surprise Ginther is a sports fan, as well as a fan of how sports have helped build Columbus’s national/international reputation and have contributed to the city’s quality of life and impressive economic growth. Six members of 2016 U.S. Olympic Team, several divers with Columbus ties among those planning to compete
COLUMBUS (November 30, 2016) – More than 125 of the nation’s top divers, including six Olympians and several divers with ties to Columbus are among more than 125 divers registered to compete at the 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships, set for December 15-21 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the Ohio State University campus.

COLUMBUS (November 22, 2016) –The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced Tuesday the schedule for the football state championship games December 1, 2 and 3 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. Five Central Ohio teams remain in contention to play for a championship in The ‘Shoe next weekend with semifinal matchups this weekend including: Division I – Powell Olentangy Liberty and Pickerington Central, Division III – Columbus St. Francis DeSales, Division IV – Columbus Bishop Hartley and Division VII – Canal Winchester Harvest Preparatory.
