NHL’s Ciccarelli and Olczyk and OSU Coaches Fickell and Matta Join The 2011 Morning Sports Report
Jun 15At The 2011 Morning Sports Report presented by Marathon, Columbus Blue Jackets All-Star Rick Nash will be joined by NHL Hall of Famer Dino Ciccarelli and Stanley Cup Champion and NHL TV Analyst Ed Olczyk. Also participating are Ohio State Head Football Coach Luke Fickell and Head Basketball Coach Thad Matta.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, NHL Hall of Famers Phil Esposito (scheduling conflict) and Stan Mikita (medical issue) are no longer able to attend. Ciccarelli played 19 seasons, primarily with the Minnesota North Stars and Detroit Red Wings, and scored 608 goals and 1,200 points during his career. Olczyk, currently the lead analyst for the NHL on NBC, represented Team USA at the 1984 Olympic Games and the 1987 and 1991 Canada Cup tournaments and played 16 seasons in the NHL, tallying 794 points and winning the Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers in 1994.

Jan 31SAVE THE DATE for the Greater Columbus Sports Commission’s eighth annual The Morning Sports Report. The MSR is June 29th in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom. In 2010, GCSC showed the city’s Buckeye Pride by bringing together for the first time ever the Four Living Ohio State Heisman Winners: Howard “Hopalong” Cassady, Archie Griffin, Eddie George and Troy Smith.
This year’s MSR will be another signature, exciting and high-level sport-themed celebration that continues to serve as a Town Hall Breakfast for Columbus’ sports teams.
