By Steve Wartenberg | It’s rare for the Gay Softball World Series to return to a city after only five years.
But this is Columbus, where rare and exciting things happen on a regular basis. The North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance’s 2015 Gay Softball World Series will be here from Aug. 13 to 22. About 5,000 players, coaches, officials and fans will come to Columbus, with visitor spending estimated to be well over the $5 million economic impact realized in 2010.
Proceeds will benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund at OSU’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute
COLUMBUS, OH (May 11, 2015) – GSWS Columbus is hard at work getting things ready for the arrival in just under 100 days of approximately 5000 players, coaches and fans to Columbus.
“This event is a culmination of over two years of work by our team,” said Dallas Aldridge, President of GSWS Columbus. “For the first time ever we are projected to have over 200 teams participating from our 43 member cities. That is a 37% increase from 2010 when Columbus previously hosted the event.”

Columbus, Ohio (JANUARY 29, 2013)– The delegates of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) unanimously selected Columbus, Ohio as the host city for the 2015 Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) at their annual Winter meeting, which took place in Washington, DC January 26-27.
