2010 Triple-A National Champions Ring Ceremony
Mar 31As part of the festivities at the Clippers-Indians exhibition game, community leaders and supporters of the team were asked to take part in the 2010 Triple-A National Champions Ring Ceremony. The Columbus Clippers were crowned Triple-A National Champions over the Tacoma Rainers last September. Our very own Linda Logan handed Indians pitcher Zach McAllister his ring. The game itself was called due to snow. If you want to see Linda in action (9:29) or view the entire ceremony watch the video posted to YouTube by MrCavalierBuck below.

Columbus’ “March Madness” and “Money Month”
Mar 04March represents a month when the entire Columbus sports community is in “play” and more, with several major events taking place. The strength of Columbus as a sports destination is the variety and depth of our sports, from professional, collegiate sports from Div. I to Div. III, to participation sports like the Arnold Sports Festival, the largest multi-sport event in the world.
In the Columbus Dispatch today, there is a great “Money Month” article by Marla Matzer Rose on the economic impact of March’s amateur sporting events for the city which is an estimated $63M for the 13 events (listed below) and over 450K attendees. Rose also did an interview with WBNS 10TV this morning on her article (in Video Extras: Sports Tourism).
