RELEASE: Cleveland Browns to host Orange & Brown Scrimmage in Columbus

BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns on Thursday announced the team will host the “Orange & Brown Scrimmage” at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Friday, Aug. 7. The late afternoon intrasquad scrimmage at The Horseshoe will be free to fans and will feature a competitive format, updating the recent open practice structure of the franchise’s annual Family Day/FamilyNight.

“The intrasquad scrimmage is an important element of our preparation for the 2015 season,” said Head Coach Mike Pettine. “Ohio Stadium will provide a great atmosphere for our team to compete, and I’m confident our players and fans will enjoy the experience.”

RELEASE: Columbus Announced as Host City for 2016 U.S. Figure Skating Governing Council

May 12

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (May 7, 2015) – U.S. Figure Skating has announced that the 2016 U.S. Figure Skating Governing Council meeting will be held in Columbus, Ohio. The three-day meeting is set for April 28-30, 2016. Columbus was officially announced as next year’s host at the 2015 Governing Council held May 1-3 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Governing Council was also held in Columbus in 2005.

“We look forward to working with the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Hilton Columbus Downtown to bring our annual meeting to Columbus next spring,” U.S. Figure Skating Executive Director David Raith said. “The area has a lot to offer and we’re confident the Governing Council attendees will enjoy their free time in the city.”

RELEASE: Sponsors gearing up for the 2015 Gay Softball World Series coming to Columbus August 17-22


COLUMBUS, OH (May 11, 2015) – GSWS Columbus is hard at work getting things ready for the arrival in just under 100 days of approximately 5000 players, coaches and fans to Columbus.

“This event is a culmination of over two years of work by our team,” said Dallas Aldridge, President of GSWS Columbus. “For the first time ever we are projected to have over 200 teams participating from our 43 member cities. That is a 37% increase from 2010 when Columbus previously hosted the event.”
