Linda Shetina Logan, Executive Director
Hometown: Fairport Harbor, Ohio
Favorite Team: Cleveland Indians
She has been the executive director of the GCSC since its inception in 2002. Previously, Linda was the director of sports marketing for the Greater Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau and the director of sales and services at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Prior to moving back to Ohio, Linda spent 10 years in Kansas City, Mo., working for the Kansas City Convention Center, the Big Eight Conference, the Kemper Arena and the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League. She also worked for the Milwaukee Does of the Women’s Basketball League and the Cleveland Nets of World Team Tennis. An Ohio University graduate, Linda is on the advisory board of the Sports Administration and Facility Management Program. She also is the past national chair of the board of the National Association of Sports Commissions.
A die-hard baseball fan, Linda never goes on vacation without first checking the MLB schedule, and she has seen two no-hitters. For Linda, knowing that you can make a difference is what makes Columbus so great. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading and connecting with friends. Linda is married (to husband Will) and describes herself as fun, loyal, happy, committed and open.
Brian Timm, Director of Corporate Partnerships
Hometown: Troy, Ohio
Favorite Team: Ohio State Buckeyes football
A graduate of Wittenberg University, Brian also holds a master’s degree in sport administration from Ohio University. Before joining the GCSC team in January 2007, Brian was the director of sales and executive producer for the Ohio State Coaches Shows. He has also worked as the sales manager for the Ohio State Buckeyes Radio Sports Network and was an account executive for 1460 The Fan. He also spent six years with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Brian has a lifelong love for football – his most memorable sporting accomplishment is contributing to a successful high school football team. Here in Columbus, Brian and his family cheer on the Buckeyes and enjoy the city’s great restaurants. He loves to sing and enjoys reading in his spare time. Brian describes himself as caring, enthusiastic and passionate. He is married (to wife Ann) with two daughters (Caroline and Emily).
Bruce Wimbish, Director of Marketing and Communications
Hometown: Columbus, Ohio
Favorite Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
A Columbus native, he has done a tour of Ohio and ended up right back here, in what he calls the best city in the state. Bruce has an undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati, as well as an M.A. in sport management and an M.B.A. from Ohio State. He spent seven years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, most recently as the basketball communications manager, before returning to Columbus to join the GCSC team in December 2010. Bruce enjoys weightlifting and playing basketball – in fact, being on the court with LeBron James is his most memorable sporting moment. He’ll never go on vacation without an itinerary, but when he’s winging it at home, he enjoys spending time in Columbus’ entertainment districts – the Arena District, the Short North and Easton. Bruce is married (to wife Camille), and sees himself as a well-rounded person of integrity.
Ashlee McClellan Hayes, Marketing, Sales and Events Manager
Hometown: Strasburg, Ohio
Favorite Team: Dallas Cowboys
A Kent State University graduate, she has worked at the GCSC since October 2009. Previously, Ashlee was the special projects and events coordinator at the Ohio Wine Producers Association and the recreation manager at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Ashlee sees herself as passionate, driven and committed. Ashlee enjoys Columbus’ emerging food scene and spends her free time trying out new restaurants with great friends. She also finds time to travel – Ashlee spent two weeks in Malawi, Africa, and says she will never be the same.
Eric Archibald, Events Manager
Hometown: Canton, Ohio
Favorite Team: Green Bay Packers
Eric joined the GCSC from Sports America, Inc. where he was a Project Manager. His golf background consists of Operations Manager at Global Golf Management in Chicago, IL and Sales Manager at The Boeing Championship at Sandestin in Destin, FL. Prior to those roles, he was the Assistant Director of Merchandise for the Columbus Clippers. The Ohio State alum possesses both a Masters of Arts in Sports Management and a Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Sports Marketing from The Max M. Fisher College of Business.
Brenda Carter, Executive Assistant/Office Manager
Hometown: Canal Winchester, Ohio
Favorite Team: Pittsburgh Steelers
Brenda joined the GCSC in July 2012 after being with Experience Columbus, our city’s Conventions and Visitors Bureau, for more than 11 years as Sales Information Coordinator. She provided administrative support to the Director, Convention Sales and Associate Director, Convention Sales while managing all database aspects, reports, bid books along with tracking and assigning all general sales inquiries and leads. Prior to entering the hospitality and tourism industry, Brenda held positions with Ohio Magazine, Broadview Mortgage Company and Mid-America Federal S&L.
Brenda enjoys working out at the Groveport Recreation Club, walking the trails at several central Ohio metro parks, working in her yard and spending time with family and friends.
Kate Wagener, Sales Assistant
Hometown: Maumee, Ohio
Favorite Team: Ohio State Football
Kate graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2012 after studying Tourism, Leisure, and Event Planning with a minor in Marketing. During the summer, she completed an internship with the Special Olympics. Kate was able to come to Columbus for the State Games where she coached her volleyball team to a gold medal. Before this, she completed several practicums at BGSU including one with the General Manager of the Stroh Center, BGSU’s new arena, and the other was completed with the BGSU Athletic Ticket Office. Growing up in Maumee, Kate ran track, played basketball and soccer and continued to play club soccer while at BGSU. Besides playing and watching sports, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family and exploring all that Columbus has to offer.
